"Buy one, make many"...
Price $29.99
Each of these educational projects contains templates which the teacher photocopies and passes out to the students. This means that, year after year, the 24 lessons are available for inclusion with the other instructional methods a teacher may use. The cutting, folding, and review of the material printed on these Graphic Organizers is followed by teacher-student interaction where comments and information can be penciled in appropriately, and high lite liners are used to emphasize important items.

This booklet contains 16 templates which are photocopied on hard stock.  The teacher gives one to each student.  The lesson usually takes about 45 minutes for each of these pages to be cut, folded, and discussed.

The display below illustrates the Lotus Leaf analogy for naming this notebook. As the leaves are open, the course content is revealed in Graphic Organizational style in its presentation.  The color coding and personalized attention to details by the student make for a Rubric based upon an Alternative Assessment, as Show-and-Tell lesson, and a Portfolio contribution which is pretty dramatic during teacher evaluations or parent visitation sessions.  The comparison with other student portfolios is an excellent way to use classroom competition and to underscore the differences in classroom accomplishments to parents.

Each of the pages are folded the same way.  Each page is a little smaller than the last.  This allows the placement of the page into the last page that had been previously completed.  At some point, eight of these folded pages are inside one another forming the Lotus Leaf Notebook for High School English Grammar.

What a wonderful break in the traditional English classroom it can be for the teacher to pass out photocopies of the eight (16) templates in this booklet and assign a session of hands-on cutting, folding, and highlighting the pages, When the student has completed all of the 24 lesson sessions, these pages will have become a Lotus Leaf Book Report on the whole course of English Grammar, to include all the topics covered throughout the year.
