The students cut and fold each page they receive from the teacher who has photocopied the ready templates in this
booklet. As the content on each page is discussed, the students use their artistic ability to color code and decorate
the sheets. When folded and inserted into one another, an interesting, unique, and attractive Lotus Leaf notebook is
a "Take Home, Show and Tell" concrete outcome from their Music Class course.

Cooperative Learning is the essence of musicians who always work together. This project oriented set of a dozen
classroom assignments is more than a break in the traditional Music Class routine. It is actually an example of "Playing
Together," which is what music is all about. The sessions also allow inclusion for less gifted students who might not
always join cheerfully in to the scheduled activities. The opportunity, here, to change pace and re-direct focus
on the technical aspects of music is coupled to the possible discussion of Musical Intelligence, in general.
At issue is the question of whether the musical order we innately use and respond to, scales and octaves, are part of
a more general ordering used in other forms of Multiple Intelligences.
