Classroom Control of Behavior through Academics

Welcome to The KOFH web site!

KOFH PUBLISHING COMPANY has produced a complete line of educational products, K-12, which keep students busy, working independently at their desk.

Students construct 3-D graphic organizers from fold-able paper printouts which the teacher has photocopied and distributed.
These graphic organizers parallel the tradition course subject material found is their textbooks.
The teacher becomes a facilitator for the Hands-on experience, and a moderator who explains the relationship between the subject matter and the finished product the students are constructing.

While busy students use scissors and felt tips/crayons, etc, the teacher presents as an Interactive Lecture, the content of what would normally be delivered in a more formal format. While explaining relationships and definitions for the Key Words located on the Graphic Organizer, the whole class actually hears these comments, and even tends to focus on the relevance of the graphics they are holding in their own hands.

These products contain Lesson Plan Templates that teachers photocopy and the students cut and assemble.  While the students are engrossed in the projects, the teacher interacts verbally by giving directions, and using the opportunity for a lecture on the content that is presented in the guise of facilitating.

These interesting foldables Graphic Organizers do amazing things in the classroom and inside the student's head.
Basically, it a graphic organizer. BUT the organization is fixed, and though the lessons, the topics, even the different subjects across the curriculum, the same fixed organizer is used to collect the details of the material.

INSIDE THIS BIG CUBE ARE 7 SMALLER ONES

The Chemical Periodic Chart of the Elements is a 3-D Graphic Organizers that first represents the Chemical families and their Group Number using five geometric solids that fit together.  The Families around the outside of the Cube are augmented by the 8 Group B Metals inside. But each of the five modules comes apart. Smaller geometric pieces are found inside which organize graphically, the Non-metals, the Light Metals, and even the Electron Configuration Code, the Common Radicals, and Nomenclature, etc.
The whole General Chemistry Course is paralleled by the information graphically represented on these 8 ever smaller parts, one inside the next.

3-D hands-on construction projects superimpose a repetitive, fixed graphic order over the content of each lesson:

The lessons are in the form of photocopy ready templates, designed for student hands-on activity, providing an Enactive Stage of lesson presentation. The Project Orientation implicit in a series of these lessons on each topic necessitates Portfolios. Project Oriented Assignments inherently develops an Alternative Evaluation using a Rubric that focuses upon Project Completions, attention to detail, and tests student comprehension by one-on-one questions/answers during the construction activity.
