Luke 1: 17 And he, (John), shall go before him, (i.e.; Jesus, who will be) in the spirit and power of Elijah,
(The Christ, a second time), to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the
just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord: (John 1:23, Matt 3:3. Isa 40:3).

Isaiah 40:2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is
pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double, (once for Elijah in 800 BC, and now again, with him
as The Christ in 32 AD) for all her sins.
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a
highway for our God.
