Jewish view of Isaiah 53

Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom, (but Israel), is the arm of the LORD revealed?

Isa 53:2 For he, (Israel), shall grow up before him (self?) as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, (Israel), there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Isa 53:3 He, (Israel), is despised and rejected of men; (Israeli), a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him, (Israel); he, (Israel), was despised, and we esteemed him not.

(Read v. But in truth it was Western European, our ills that he bore...

The people of Israel bore the sins of the Nations by the nations persecuting the Israelites.

AND Israel bore their OWN SINS. Thus ... in v. 10 "if his soul would acknowledge guilt (make a sin-offering)

Isa 53:4
Surely, (Isaiah says, speaking to the Christianized-Gentile Nations in the future tense), he, (the Nation of Israel), hath borne our (sins, we, the Christianized-Gentile Nations, our) griefs, (we, of the Christianized-Gentile Nations), and carried our (sins, we of the Christianized-Gentile Nations, our) sorrows: yet we, (the Christianized-Gentile Nations), did esteem him, (the Nation of Israel), stricken, (NOT by the Christianized-Gentile Nations), SMITTEN of G-d, (NOT the Christianized-Gentile Nations), and afflicted (NOT by the Christianized-Gentile Nations, but G-d, himself).

Isa 53:5 But he, (the Nation of Israel), was wounded for (us, the Christianized-Gentile Nations), our (own Christianized-Gentile) transgressions, he, (the Nation of Israel), was bruised for, our (Christianized-Gentile) iniquities: the chastisement of our (Christianized-Gentile) peace was upon him, (the Nation of Israel); and with his stripes, (the Nation of Israel), we, (the Christianized-Gentile peoples), ARE healed.

Isa 53:5 But he, (the Nation of Israel), was wounded for (the Gentiles), our (own) transgressions, he, (the Nation of Israel), was bruised for our (Gentile) iniquities: the chastisement of our (Gentile) peace was upon him, (the Nation of Israel); and with his stripes, (the Nation of Israel), we, (the Gentiles), are healed.

Isa 53:6 All we, (the Gentiles), like sheep have gone astray; we, (the Gentiles), have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him, (the Nation of Israel), the iniquity of (humanity), us all, (including the Jews).

Isa 53:7 He, (all Jews), was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isa 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Isa 53:9 And he, (the Jew), made his grave with the wicked, (the Chritianzed-Gentile), and with the rich, (the Chritianzed-Gentile); in his death, (the Jew), because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth, (the Jew).

Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him, (the Nation of Israel); he, (the LORD), hath put him, (the Nation of Israel), to grief: when thou, (the LORD), shalt make (the Jew), his soul, an offering for sin, (in the Holocaust of 1942-5), he, (the Jew), shall see his seed (survive), he, (the Jew), shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD, (the return of the State of Israel among the nations), shall prosper in his hand, (the hand of the Jews).

Isa 53:11 He, (my righteous servant, the Nation of Israel), shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by (my righteous servant), his knowledge (his knowledge of scripture), shall my righteous servant, (The Nation of Israel), justify many; for he, (The Nation of Israel), shall bear their iniquities, (iniquities of the Chritianzed-Gentile).

Isa 53:12 Therefore will I, (the Lord), divide him (The Nation of Israel), a portion with the great (nations), and he (The Nation of Israel), shall divide the spoil (of prophecy), with the strong; because he (The Nation of Israel), hath poured out his soul unto death: and he (The Nation of Israel), was numbered with (the Chritianzed-Gentile), the transgressors; and he, (The Nation of Israel), bare the sin of many, and made intercession for (the Chritianzed-Gentile), the transgressors (against the Holy People of The Book).
